First day on the ground in Douala. Today’s reserved for #Bitcoin strategy sessions with business owners, high net worth individuals, and five companies from across different sectors with @nprofile1q and @Nzonda Fotsing .
The full conference kicks off tomorrow, my keynote’s locked in, and I’ll be finalizing the presentation + visuals later today.
Love being deep in the trenches. It’s a good day to be here.
Let’s keep grinding.

-South Africa in my eyes is the real Bitcoin Country. It’s a unique blend of a failed state where public goods are increasingly provided by private institutions, and super high human capital; SAers simply don’t give up but rather find way to make stuff work. That’s why we see unique bitcoin solutions like @Machankura 📞⚡ 8333.mobi, the Sparrow Wallet, the newly launched Orange, the Pick n Pay bitcoin integration, or the @BitcoinEkasi SA bitcoin scene should be a major inspiration not just for other African countries
-KG @kgothatso@8333.mobi as always killed it on stage; his comparison of the bitcoin movement with early hip hop scene was spot on; bitcoiners should take extra care to set up for major success so that it doesn’t destroy them (sadly the hip hop history is full of early deaths of major talents)

We chose to have bitcoinkampala.org set up around the biggest university in Uganda, why?
1. Students are teachable and not yet corrupted/held captive by the fiat system
2. Students don’t have money to invest(don’t have to worry about losing money)but they have time to put in more learning hours and gather experience.
3. Students from around the country converge at the university — these can take back #Bitcoin home 🏡
Well it’s been two years now and the messages are coming in.

It’s actually illogical to be pro-Dollar and pro-Bitcoin.
These monetary networks are separate and ultimately antithetical to each other.
I used to not understand this, but now I do… and I can’t unsee it.

At this point I am too deep to shackle myself ever again, but I feel the disconnection since I always have an unpopular oppinion. Blinded Normie friends are my weakness I guess. Anyone else?
It feels like there is a big fork in the road ahead in the upcoming years.

It is based on a case study of certain individuals working for European Central Bank and investigating several "issues" with Bitcoin. As they have all the symptoms to be diagnosed with late progression of nocoiner syndrome, we decided to help people understand this condition and possible treatments.
Please spread widely to help those in need: https://cryptoanarchy.institute/nocoiner-syndrome-2024.pdf

You had to turn it in for dollars by a deadline prior to dollar devaluation, and there were massive prison consequences for not turning it in, but little resources in terms of investigating who didn’t turn it in. That would be expensive. So it was fear based. Focusing on illegality and tail risks on edge cases more than enforcement on average.
Institutions had to comply immediately, since it’s all visible. So the government broke liquidity in the domestic gold market, which was enough for their purposes. Gold became a hard-to-trade illegal relic for those that held it.
If a small family hodled some extra bars for 40 years until it became legal again, they did okay.
But can the government track bitcoin in the 2020s better or worse than gold in 1930s for enforcement purposes? That’s

Giving too much importance and attention to any random thing he says. It's cool if he says something valuable, and whatever if he says something silly. The average person is going to have the same tumultuous journey as everyone else and I've come to realize that there's probably no great shortcut. 🤷🏻♂️
I've kind of come to the same place with that sort of thing as I have with shitcoins. I used to spend SO much time and energy trying to explain why it's stupid and everyone was going to lose their money... now i just don't care. It's a waste of my time and it never seemed to work anyway. I just make my case to anyone who will listen.

His answer was, “It’s going to grant all those same freedoms and benefits to the person who you hate most in the world. And there’s nothing you can do about it.”
Ironically, that’s what most people can’t give up. They can’t let go of the statist temptation of arbitrarily punishing people they don’t like, or are afraid of.

“For years, there's been endless speculation about the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, both in print and in media. Yet, until someone signs the private keys linked to Satoshi’s addresses, all of this remains mere conjecture.
Satoshi gave the world a profound gift in Bitcoin but deliberately chose to remain anonymous—a decision that must be respected. Efforts to unmask them are not just irresponsible but potentially dangerous.
Satoshi left the project early, and since then, countless others have contributed far more to Bitcoin’s evolution. Satoshi is no longer just one person; Satoshi is now everyone who works to restore a sound, incorruptible money standard for the world. We are all Satoshi.”

Sounds retarded? Correct. That's why the SEC has proposed a rule to formalize licensing requirements for communication protocols.
In a speech at the annual U.S. Treasury Market Conference, Gensler announced to rule on proposed amendments to the Exchange Act by November, which expand the definition of the term "exchange" to mean "systems that bring together buyers and sellers of securities [...] (i.e. "communication protocols")."
Critics argue the rule may be weaponized to criminally indict software developers given the already hostile environment for crypto- and privacy devs.
If this rule passes, we are fucked beyond comprehension.

Bitcoin is the best digital monetary system due to its rock-solid core properties, its fairness to all participants and – crucially – because it eliminates trust.
Despite publicly being declared dead hundreds of times every year since its birth, Bitcoin is now the world’s most secure large computer network with millions of users worldwide. Robust in design, it continues to grow, with the Lindy Effect already suggesting that it has a very long future indeed.
Since Bitcoin’s inception in 2009, many thousands of imitators have been created – ‘crypto’ as distinct from Bitcoin. But because Bitcoin is the first successful digital money, any crypto trying to be money, irrespective of its characteristics, cannot compete with Bitcoin’s established network effects. Even near-identical copies ‘hard-forked’ from Bitcoin itself have all diminished in value, participation and security relative to Bitcoin over time. As

But the proposed law also drastically expands the surveillance of bank accounts.
According to the proposed law, banks are to be alleviated of the suspension of accounts under investigation for AML/CTF violations, enabling the prolonged and undetected surveillance of bank accounts via the German federal police.
In 2023, the German FIU received 337,000 suspicious transaction reports, of which roughly 63,000 had little or nothing to do with AML/CTF violations.
Under the proposed law, close to 20% of accounts under investigation for AML/CTF violations would be subject to increased and unjust spying on their financial activities through police.

This sugar provides no benefit to your body and leads to high blood sugar, high insulin levels & chronic inflammation. This includes fruit juices which in many cases contain more sugar than a Coke.

The natural state of the free market is deflation which means all prices fall forever in Bitcoin (assuming it stays decentralized and secure)
Free market economies are more productive meaning faster deflation (or real wealth gains by falling prices)
That system is incompatible with an inflationary monetary system meaning one of those systems must fail.
Either:
1) A system based on truth, hope, and abundance for all 8 billion people on the planet driven by a free market economy and all prices fall relative to bitcoin forever. This means Bitcoin is used as a medium of exchange and freedom tech spreads to the world through lightning, Liquid, Fedimint, Cashu, etc.
OR
2) A control system.

That’s a different pile of money than most other government functions, and so without either tax increases or legislation that transfers other money to it, payments going out to retirees could actually be cut after that due to not enough income flowing in.
I’m not sure what they’ll do at that point since we don’t even know what things will look like then, but basically 2035 is the next station to see if the train keeps going or not.
This drawdown will represent “intergovernmental” public debt turning into public debt held by either the private sector, foreign sector, or central bank.

The boomers in power will die soon of natural causes.
And be replaced by their cowardly spineless effeminate sons.
People with no competence. Who haven’t earned anything. Inheritors who believe in cargo cult engineering.
They have no ability to build or maintain the empires they’ve been given.
They will be trivially easy to defeat or resist.

I can just say whatever crazy shit I want and there’s like no guardrails or mods—it’s just out there, and people will actually see it.
No one appreciates just how powerful this is, how important it is, monumental even.
It creates a totally new possibility for the social web, which is really something else entirely. It’s the possibility of a new world in which people own their data; their information. No longer to be exploited, or owned, people can really say whatever they want.
And that is truly extraordinary.
