Atukunda Arnold is not only one of the best rugby players in Uganda 🇺🇬, he’s also the only mechanic who explains things in plain English 😂
We’ve been taking our time to learn about Bitcoin — with all the cars in our community (especially Gorilla Sats tours), we couldn’t keep selling #sats for fiat.
Now he gets it, And more and more payments are happening in #Bitcoin

Mining our first 21 sats w/ Gorilla Sats
Thanks to @AVERAGE_GARY - OP_SECURETHEBAG we received an Antminer S9J to get our foot in the door to commence #Bitcoin mining as part of our annual targets.
As @⚡🔋jesse_hodl 🫵🏄♀️ always says "START" and you will figure mining out.

I spent the day with one of our community vendors, he has received substantial #Bitcoin payments that he didn’t touch for now 7-8 months.
He serves 200-300 @Makerere Students per day. These are sats waiting to circulate 🤭
He has let me in on plans to improve his fast food business appearance and he is choosing to do a #Bitcoin Themed repaint on the shop.
#Bitcoin is Hope 🧡

Bitcoin beach Africa Fund, we now have runway for our basics for a few months to come.
Thank you to @BitcoinEkasi for being a great steward of this fund & enabling African circular economies to bring #Bitcoin to their communities.
This year we have big aspirations, make a symbolic donation to enable us:
✅ Buy a School and Bitcoinize it.
✅ Implement Sustainability models to take care of 113 Children @orphansofuganda
✅ Double down on Bitcoin penetration and usage in Bugiri & Makerere
We have a breakdown of what we will do with the received donations. More Updates coming.

@Bitcoin Berlín SV is a great example of a community driven approach to a circular economy.
Attended a community meeting yesterday and I was impressed (after multiple translations 😂 from Spanish to English) with how involved the locals are.
It is impressive how many merchants accept and understand #Bitcoin
I’m really inspired by the visibility of #Bitcoin accepted here signs on all shops

We sold our first 40 liters of liquid soap 🧼
Last week Afan & Edith led the children at @Orphans of Uganda through their first commercial production of liquid soap!
As one of our sustainability models, the children are learning how to make & SELL the soap to the community, I’m really proud that they sold their first 40 liters and will be making more tomorrow.
The money made from these projects will reduce our dependency on donations while giving the children permanent life skills.
We have more sustainability models to unlock this year & next year;
This year
1. Commercial Liquid Soap (65% done)
2. Making Reusable Sanitary Towels(10%)
3. Maize Milling(20%)
With a workforce of 113 children, we are ready to take on a big Liquid Soap order, please refer us.
Buying from us is a better way to Donate 🧡

Getting visas & crossing airports as an Ugandan 🇺🇬 is draining and it’s funny am getting used to it.
I get special security treatment & checks, my documents are verified by multiple people with laser scrutiny, I have to provide financial proof sometimes 😂
The origin of my passport automatically dictates my treatment!
In trying to pay for a last minute flight online (Travala didn’t have the particular flight, would have used #Bitcoin my personal & business bank cards were rejected, though I had more than enough fiat there.
I only got to book through @Student of Bitcoin ’s American Express card & instantly got a verification call directly from the US 😆 - the gentleman asked if I was for real!
It’s these small things that remind me of why #Bitcoin is important, especially the inbuilt financial isolation of the Majority South.

Spent my day at @BitcoinLoxion with Thulisa & her amazing team!
They are building a #Bitcoin circular economy in Khayelitsha Capetown.
I loved learning that all the volunteers that work on the gardening, logos painting & the project works are paid in #Bitcoin which they can spend at the different local shops i.e
✅Siki’s Cafe
✅Lalie’s Glam Studio
✅Kareem’s Grocery Shop
And others that I didn’t visit….
Thulisa drew inspiration from 2024’s Post @Adopting Bitcoin Cape Town trip to @BitcoinEkasi ,
She went on to go through the outstanding Bitcoin Dadaclass and is now changing her community in real time.
I ensured to spend some sats at all the places we visited, if you are around Capetown - visit and get wowed.
They are building a #Bitcoin circular economy in Khayelitsha Capetown.
