Lebanon’s Financial Tragedy: The Puppet Show That Broke a Nation 
While the world watches Lebanon through the lens of regional conflicts, a deeper, far more insidious war has been waged for decades—a war against the Lebanese people themselves. Yesterday, I spent 12 hours in the German Parliament, the Bundestag, discussing…. #Bitcoin
Yes, the German Parliament regularly speaks to the dangers of fiat currency while exploring the growing acceptance of Bitcoin, thanks to the initiative “Bitcoin im Bundestag.”
I had the opportunity to interview @Joana Cotar, the Member of Parliament leading this Bitcoin educational drive.
We spoke about Germany’s blunder in selling 50,000 BTC this summer, the budding acceptance of Bitcoin within the country, and the vibrant grassroots Bitcoin community (hello 21!)
Joana has been leading Bitcoin talks throughout the year in both English and German, inviting MPs from across the political spectrum and their aides to formally learn about Bitcoin.
It was bizarre and somewhat inspiring to see MPs not only attend last night’s event but ask insightful questions about the future of Germany and Bitcoin.

- It's enjoyable to see @Blockstream
(main partner of BitCorner) been a crucial part of the documentary,
@JAN3
also got a good amount of exposure.
- The way Cullen explained #Bitcoin the origins of shitcoins, Blocksizes war, CBDCs, and the flaws of the current fiat system is outstanding. Easy to understand for the newbies. Congrats, Cullen. I mean it.
- @Peter Todd (a.k.a. Satoshi [come to El Salvador's Bitcoin podcast, it will be fun]) using @vexl 😎 t-shirt is cool! don't you think @Grafton @ Vexl ? 😎
- Good to see ya on cam @Samson Mow and @Adam Back
- #ElSalvador was mentioned and showed a bit. I would love to see a documentary fully El Salvador's Bitcoin adoption.

One thing I loved about #MoneyElectric was all the non-Satoshi stuff.
- It painted bitcoin in a really good light that I would never expect from a journalist.
- Showed just how dumb the current financial system is and current economists.
- Depicted small blockers in a good light, and was generally positive about the outcome of the block wars.
- It highlighted El Salvador’s success, and the gave a lot of attention to @JAN3
A lot of non-bitcoiners are going to watch this over the years. With a small sample size of non-bitcoiners (my wife), she’s not convinced that @Peter Todd was Satoshi, but she actually watched the entire doc (that never happens) and I saw her listening attentively as they talked about all culturally relevant about bitcoin. This was good for bitcoin.

This is something I've only revently started to use and it's changed my setup completely
Anyone who is moving bitcoin from Layer 2 (lightning, liquid, ecash) onto Layer 1 should definitely give this a spin

I understand your point that there will always be a psychopath willing to subsidize freedom. Maybe that’s true and continues. It’s been true so far.
But psychopaths are not enough to keep nostr decentralized.
Relays are NOT equivalent. A relay with 100k users is not the same as a relay with two users.
Relays equal reach. Everyone wants the greatest audience for their posts and to never miss a post from someone they follow. This creates a natural incentive to connect to the largest relays.
The problem with the architecture is that nostr clients limit the number of relays you can have. For example, @Damus recommends ten or less.

Either Nostr evolves to have every client being a relay, or it will fail. The risk is the same as that of LSPs.
Think adversarially and think far into the future. Imagine Nostr running at Telegram scale with 1B users, not the tight knit community is now.

This is true. I would also add that nostr’s use of public keys while lacking IP privacy is dangerous because it could mislead posters to believe that they are anonymous.
So not only are relays not decentralized but any govt agent with access to a relay can figure out who you are.

Sometimes people ask me, “what if American bans bitcoin like they did for gold?”
1) That’s why it’s useful to engage politically. To prevent that draconian tail risk. And it’s working. Prevent any sort of anti-Bitcoin supermajority.
2) America had a supermajority in Congress when they did that for gold. They could override every check on power. That’s uncommon. We became highly collectivist for a period of time.
3) America literally put Japanese Americans in camps back then. But not German Americans. Because we were outright racist. And this was all pre civil rights for Black Americans too. Terrible.
4) This was all pre-internet. Centralized media. Few memes. The slow speed of communication was relevant.
The meme-work makes the dream work.

Keep calm and HODL #Bitcoin
Everyone seems to be overreacting to the Samourai arrests, the FBI PSA, and Phoenix leaving the US. Here's my attempt to break it down.
Samourai
You have to unpack all of the different elements. Could this be a state attack on self-custody and privacy? Maybe. Probably not.
There are a few components here that need to be evaluated on their own.
1⃣ Samourai was a self-custodial wallet
2⃣ Samourai was a mixer
3⃣ Samourai was providing normal people with privacy
4⃣ Samourai were knowingly marketing the service to criminals and flaunting that fact
Reading the charges, it seems like #4 is pretty cut and dry for this case. Their getting arrested for #4 doesn't automatically mean #1 #2 #3 are under siege as well. If Samourai was a taco stand

The most important thing with the #Bitcoin ETFs that most people seem to miss is the rate of accumulation.
The last few $MSTR mega-stacks (over 10k BTC) were 14.6k and 16.1k BTC.
IBIT’s average stack is ˜$200M/day or 4.7k BTC.
FBTC’s average stack is ˜$175M/day or 4.2k BTC.
So every 2 trading days, just 2 of the New Nine are hoovering up what MSTR does in a good month.
But more importantly, the IBIT/FBTC intake is ˜9k BTC a trading day. Mining only supplies 900 a day. So demand from 2 ETFs alone is 10x supply. Supply is going to get cut in half in less than 3 months, which means this demand will be 20x supply.
And this demand is just 2 ETFs. Don’t forget MSTR, Tether, and many more corps are also accumulating, along with nation-states, HNWIs, and plebs.

Balaji wasn't wrong about #Bitcoin going to $1M, but he was wrong on the timing and the catalyst.
My $1M call is based on a massive rapid influx of institutional capital while Bitcoin available for sale is at historical lows, compounded by the halving.
His $1M prediction was predicated on money printing and banks failing. Those two things could potentially be a driver for a rapid run to $1M but not likely. The money printing already happened and then dried up. It will take a few more years for the market to adjust accordingly. As for banks failing, normies will just look for a "safer" bank. They aren't at the stage where they realize no bank is really safe and Bitcoin is the only option.
TL;DR: #1MBitcoin is in play.
