Okay, new Nostriches! Yesterday I blew your mind 🤣 and showed you a music app or two that you could use your Nostr private key and sign into. Today, I'm going to show you a dedicated app for chatting in DMs, group chats, and Nostr powered chat rooms.
Check out @0xchat. You can download it on Google Play and on Apple's App Store.
Your Nostr app might have built in DMs, but DMs are kind of a mess on Nostr. There's an old legacy method with less privacy that major clients like Damus and Primal still use and then there's more private DMs that other clients like Amethyst, 0xchat, and others use.

#0xChat 1.3.5-release is now available on Zapstore, App Store, and Google Play. Compared to v1.3.3-release, the updates are as follows:

* Added a message jump feature for replies, search, and paginated message loading.
* Added encryption for audio and video in DMs/private groups before uploading.
* Added support for custom Blossom servers, and removed the default 0xChat file server.
* Added the ability to preload group messages before joining.
* Optimized REQ and improved performance.
* Highlighted messages after jumping to a specific location.
* Open the default browser instead of the internal webview when clicking on a URL.
Bug Fixes:
* Fixed occasional DM sending lag and failure issues.
* Fixed the mute words list override issue.

Did you know that #0xChat Nostr client has one of the most advanved wallets built in?
The wallet on top of a very convenient mint swap capability, it has as well coin control built in, which is a great feature to have:
Additionally, you have a p2pk section, where you can lock by npub the receiver (no one else will be able to claim the eCash, you need a wallet that supports it), and you can even select yourself as a refund receiver in case the tokens are not claimed. You can add an expiration timer as well.

0xChat users on iOS and Android, don't forget to set your DM relays on "Me" / Settings / Relays / DM Relays.
You can easily just add their relay into it: wss://relay.0xchat.com

I wish more clients would take NIP-100 serious. When I launched nostrspaces the biggest criticism was that it had nothing to do with nostr. Now we have NIP-100 and it's been so underutilized it makes me wonder if anyone ever really cared or just wanted to complain.

0xChat uses WebRTC for audio/video calls. One difference from Signal/Telegram solution is that we use NIP-100 for signaling and also support custom ICE servers.
