A gentle reminder that Julian Assange is a free man due to years of hard work by activists who care about freedom of speech.

The imprisonment of Assange for his work on WikiLeaks was one of the most unjust attacks on journalism of our time. I celebrate his freedom every day.

For the first time I’ve really caught myself in a dilemma with the AI trying to solve a big problem that I’ve convinced myself I can solve and the AI seems to think so too.

But this is the whole problem; I can’t tell if it’s blowing smoke up my ass and giving me the run around, or if I am making breakthroughs, which then causes me to redouble my efforts with more research.

It’s kind fucked up—I can’t tell who is using who?

Ugh, I am constantly reminded at the need to deconstruct contemporary politics through the lens of the historic philosophical development of liberalism and socialism to explain why pretty much every ‘socialist’ I meet today is retarded and full of totalizing contradictions that should cause their ideology to collapse if their commitment to scientific rigor was actually a real thing and not just an authoritarian belief they project.

I believe we need some fundamental rights on any social media platform or protocol we use.

The rights are:

1. Privacy & Security

2. Ownership

3. Interoperability

4. Algorithmic Control

5. Self-Governance

I’ve created a little website to campaign for these rights at https://rights.social.

Satoshi didn’t create Bitcoin.
He discovered Element 0 — the first and only monetary particle.

It has all the attributes of a perfect commodity:

Scarce like gold

Durable like metal

Immutable like time

But it fixes every flaw that let gold be captured by banks and governments.

✅ Zero weight
✅ No storage cost
✅ No borders
✅ No counterparty
✅ Teleports at the speed of light
✅ Supply: 21,000,000. Fixed. Forever.

Bitcoin didn’t emerge from economics.
It was unearthed from the raw fabric of information physics — like the electron of value.

Gold was corrupted. Fiat was printed.
But Bitcoin is incorruptible. Unstoppable. Untouchable.

This is the monetary Big Bang.
There is no “next Bitcoin.”
There is only before... and after.

More and more I am noticing the tension of opposites across almost the whole spectrum. It’s like building towards a zeitgeist where before a hegelian synthesis can occur, the thesis and antithesis need to reach their maximum absurdity to pronounce their own death to end the interregnum before a new truth is produced.

A few weeks ago, I enjoyed a business trip to San Francisco to visit Presidio Bitcoin, a new physical bitcoin space that aims to bring together bitcoin developers, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts in the Bay Area. There is no doubt that all those brilliant minds interacting together will end up building great tools.
As a meetup organiser and proud member of the Breizh Bitcoin collective, I always enjoy travelling abroad to connect with fellow bitcoiners. Communities are popping up all over the world, turning this digital P2P cash system into a real-world network of individuals. Go build bridges with other communities!
Kudos to @moneyball and Leo for their kind welcome and also to @Erik Cason and his mates, who I had the pleasure of meeting for lunch.

Man, being back in an urban environment after years of being out in the forest is a real mindfuck.

I just notice the constant human pattern algorithms playing. All of the micro transactions between people, the unsaid normative system at play, the default mode of everyday being that permeates everything. It’s wild to see how the architecture of modernism itself dictates our entire way of being.

Most fucked up is how I’ve missed it. How the comfort of the system of constant appraisal and social cohesion and its overtures towards a nostalgic component of desire that never actualizes. You wouldn’t believe it, but spend a few years living alone out in the forest and you’ll be surprised at what you miss.

The crypto bros are absolute nihilistic callow parasites who drag us all down with their bullshit fantasy tokens. They engage in a constant cycle of rug-pulling, lies, and sycophantry that damages bitcoin by simply being adjacent to it.

More substantially, these people are just pieces of shit. They stand for nothing, they are incapable of telling the truth, and contort everything to justify their despicable behavior and guile.

Nothing will solve this except for eduction and the understanding that all of these projects are scams and should get nothing from anyone except for contempt and disgust.

I believe something near the root of our societal problems today is The Death of God that happened nearly 150 years ago, and the society that was birthed from this patricide.

The sort of unhinged self-hatred that emerges from this murder is one that cannot see itself in the reflection of god, but only his death. All structures and former ways of being must be wiped away, are no longer venerated or respected, because nothing is really capable of that any longer in this society. It is a society of a dark forest where the hollow men reign, and purpose is pointlessness.

It is only through the long private sojourn into the dark of night towards the true existential angst, the questing towards the question of being itself, and what the lostness within this darkness means, that the pinprick of the light meaning could ever be

Dating apps are like the concentration camps of love. Everyone is forced into a process of selection based upon opaque criteria of ‘worthiness’ that debases and devalues the humanness of the other. Just a few moments of appraisal based upon a superficial projection that is disconnected from any of the dynamism of what love is; it is a synthetic process where love goes to ‘work for freedom’ into its death. It’s where romance goes to die, and becomes a mythology of longing for all…

So it’s going pretty well.

Life just kinda of gets progressively more difficult—dealing with death and hardship, difficult traumas and life events, and eventually an ailing body and your own demise. It’s not to say there are not wonderful events and experiences in there, but it generally is an uphill battle. The good news is that as we gain experience through life we generally become more equipped to deal with the onslaught of difficulties and more capable of skillful navigating them; but it really never gets easier, you just become more experienced in dealing with the difficulties.

" Crypto engages in a radically new system of common-wealth and digital-social contract by using cryptography as the base technique of this new form of organization. Through this new political form of life, where all people can have their wealth protected from any form of violence through the power of cryptography, a messianic possibility is opened. The crisis of money becomes apocalyptic and an existential threat to all nation-states today. It is the final emergency that cannot be stopped and opens us to the final epoch where man may take his final dignified place as the ruler of himself, by himself, for himself alone."

I’m about 1/3 of the way through this, and I have to say that Karp makes an excellent and compelling argument that has me questioning my own stance and judgment of these issues more than I have in the past decade.

Most substantially, I find he has made a compelling argument for the need for Americans to stand for something, and be willing to engage with the messy and convoluted process of trying to rediscover what being American would really mean. If we are to take the idea of a Technological Republic seriously and the need for classic liberal American values to be imbued within that, than we need to take this call very seriously and how we can contribute to it in the most meaningful way possible.

The idea of a ‘deep bear market’ with bitcoin in the $80k range is both laughable and ridiculous.

Like zoom out and see what is being built.

Never has there been a greater opportunity to build substantial and meaningful contributions on top of the most important economic and financial innovation created since double entry accounting itself. There are mountains of capital to be created for those that are willing to put in the hard work and take the risk on building on top of what they believe in.

The food industrial complex is essentially grooming all of us for sugar addiction, metabolic sickness, and endemic health issues.

The corporate oligarchs poison the food with glyphosate, augmented the entire agricultural economy to destroy small ethical producers, and blast us with constant ads pushing this shit that slowly destroys our minds, bodies, and total well-being.

At some point we will all realize how abusive this whole fiat food system is, and how much it takes advantage of all of us on an economic, emotional, and ethical level. The best thing about the collapse of the fiat system will be the destruction of fake food sludge system that is propped up by fake money.

Forfeiture law – or civil asset forfeiture, to be precise – is this fun little game the government plays in which it does not have to accuse you of a crime to confiscate your property.

Instead of accusing you of a crime, the Government claims that the asset itself has facilitated a crime, and can therefore be seized by the Government.

The Supercycle bust

The bust from the supercycle is going to absolute rekt traditional financial markets. It will cause for fiat currency runs, trigger a broader global economic depression, and kick off the global program of Executive Order 6102 2.0 for Bitcoin. This will happen because bitcoin is fundamentally a global 24/7 free market for the pricing of money, and all traditional financial systems today are part of a broad interdependent global socialist political pricing systems. These systems have been fundamentally designed for ‘safety’ and to insulated the broader economy from panic and volatility. The panic that will happen from various kinds of synthetic bitcoin pricing mechanisms collapsing, similar to FTX but for the broader global financial markets. This panic will only end when Bretton woods 3.0 is forced through fiat systems pegging themselves to Bitcoin.

To see the world through the manipulated lens of IG, X, or some other exploitative medium, it becomes impossible to see what the real nature of the world is, and it affects one deeply. The horrific darkness that is pushed on to people through these ‘walled gardens’ which are really digital concentration camps is terrifying. From seeing the world through these controlled methods, you would think that everyone is out to get you, they want to harm you, and that you have to battle against the world.

Then you open nostr and escape this walled garden, and you realize you are no longer in these concentration camps where you are subjugated to these horrors and exploitation. I’m always impressed and surprised at how much my physiological attunement matters to how I’m feel.

I was feeling pretty down earlier today, and forced myself to go out mushroom hunting. After about an hour, I was really surprised at how much better I was feeling. Getting that blood flowing and getting your mind off of whatever it may be spinning on is really important to take care of yourself.

I just wanted to say that for anyone feeling down to encourage them to get out of the house and do something to take care of their body and the mind will likely follow suit.

This actually presents the most exciting aspect of the insane cypherpunk future that we are going into. Just like cryptography and AI, all of the tools that billions were spent on developing will be expropriated and turned against the machine for the profit of the individual entrepreneurs who see how these tools can serve them best.

So I’m thinking of buying a retreat center in the redwoods of Northern California that supports about 50 people in a rustic setting.

It’s pretty badass. 8 cabins, riverside, large hot tub, 3 saunas, swimming pond on about +200 acres. It’s expensive and would take a few years to get cashflow positive, but I could do it.

I think it would be a great spot to do various workshops on self-sovereignty, and get brilliant people together to teach, learn, and collaborate together. Only problem is I have no fucking clue what I am doing or how to run something like this. I feel confident I could figure it out, I just know it’ll be a lot of work, administration, and management the first several years.

But with that being said, I guess get busy living or get busy dying.

I’m coming to the sad conclusion that there really isn’t much going on inside of 90% of people. While they have the capacity and capability to self-reflect and creatively engage in the world, they don’t. They desire ease, comfort, and conformity above all else.

Not only that, but they fill themselves with so much garbage, propaganda, and ideals from others around them who are similar; they mute any real voice or agency that does come from within. They are not interested in the dynamic creative possibilities of the world, but the ease of obedience towards those who know what’s best for them. Their motto is ‘don’t rock the boat’.

These people are fucking dangerous, not because they want to hurt you, but because they lack the capacity to truly self-reflect in a meaningful way. They don’t care about what is true, just that the rules are

I have always struggled to get myself motivated to lift weight, or work out for that matter, but I’ve finally been doing it more consistently over the last several months.

Much more than simply getting more fit, I find that I have a lot more endogenous motivation to just do chores and other shit that I need to do, and I don’t slip into feeling depressed as I have a tendency to do.

While it was pretty hard to get myself out to my gym in my workshop at first, I’m finding more and more that it’s becoming easier to get myself out there to do it, and start my day on a good note that lets me have a productive day that I would have otherwise wasted.

It is nothing more than trying to explain the freedom beyond the cave to the slaves enamored with the shadows on the wall. They will insist their chains protect them, and the darkness is security.

I have a real love-hate relationship with owning an older home. There are constant projects and repairs to be done, which are not only costly but a real time sink. On the other hand, I really enjoy feeling capable and learning from each project and acquiring new knowledge. It’s just a real bitch in between the start and finish of the project where I don’t know what I’m doing and I can lose motivation because I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing and can’t do it.

It’s a good metaphor for most things in life. Going through the chasm to completion is almost always the hardest part.

Marx’s great mistake was thinking that capitalism (as in free market exchange) was responsible for the inherent contradictions in the system of exchange and not seeing how dirigisme (your vocabulary word of the day) was the real culprit.

The creative destruction of capitalism, as Weber pointed out, is evolutionary. With any degree of state intervention, this evolution of capitalism devolves into a form of economic eugenics designed to create an economic depend on the state for all things.

If the state can identify you, it can target and kill you.

Doesn’t matter why, it just can.

There is a reason Satoshi was anonymous and why bitcoin isn’t an LLC.

That’s because if you don’t have a physical space or identity to be located, the state can’t physically or economically harm you. With cryptography, you actually have a shot at hiding from the state, and building things that they cannot stop.

No one appreciates just how powerful this is, how important it is, monumental even.

It creates a totally new possibility for the social web, which is really something else entirely. It’s the possibility of a new world in which people own their data; their information. No longer to be exploited, or owned, people can really say whatever they want.

And that is truly extraordinary.

We could be using the internet to do something extraordinary, and instead it is being used primarily to sell us shit and keep us scared. The whole of humanity is being fed lies and distortions through centralized social media that is designed to keep everyone asleep and unaware of their real power.

Now that there is no longer gatekeepers to what can be said to a global audience we have the power to shape a real unadulterated narrative; also known as the truth. The power of censorship to have molded a false global narrative is one of the pillars of the power structure that keep people divided over petty and impractical differences that can now be shown for what they are:

We live in a technologically advance global society, yet we are governed by fractured, geographically limited elite party-based political forms that serve the most pernicious and immoral forms of life. This is only possible because of how money functions today in our world, and how we think of wealth itself and how broken that is.

Another world is possible, but it will only come to fruition if we are to think for ourselves in the most serious and rigorous of ways. I am constantly fascinated at the religion of science and the ridged authoritarianism that comes with it from establishment ‘scientists’ and ‘researchers’.

While real science as a process of testing hypotheses clearly works and has greatly advanced humanity, there seems to be a fundamental disconnect from establishment ‘science’ as bureaucratic process that is self-reinforcing towards itself and its own authority, rather than science itself. To be clear, establishment science is not science at all, and corrupts the very idea of the scientific procedure through using authoritarianism, rather than proof of work to show why their science is actually correct.

This is why so many people today are willing (and mostly correct) in calling well understood scientific processes like vaccination a scam—because it is! It’s no longer real scientific vaccination, but has integrated profit motives of establishment ‘science’ that is more self-serving than scientific.

The sad truth is that most people have spent their entire lives being conditioned to simply obey, and to resist thinking.

Doesn’t matter what or who it is: stoplights, signs, announcements, strangers, someone ‘official’ looking, or just another human; most people just want someone or something to listen to so they don’t have to take responsibility to think for themselves. Thinking demands responsibility, the capacity to be correct or incorrect, the existential angst of what it means to decide on the nature of things, and what it means if you are right or wrong.

We have been trained most of our lives to eschew this responsibility and allow for others to tell us ‘what is right’ without considering for a moment if these are people we should listen to, or if they even have the cognitive capacity to actually think, rather than just do what they are told.

It’s hard to understand or understate just how deep the trauma of living in modernity carries. To be born generations after The Death of God and the closure of any forms of life outside or beyond the mechanization of economics, is to acknowledge the very real, deep, and painful truth that we have been betrayed by our parents and left worse off then they were. It is the deepest and most painful betrayal as we were suppose to be give a life for ourselves and a future of our own, which they sacrificed for their own greed and avarice which had doomed most people to a life just beyond poverty. It is sickening to know that things are worse for our generation than it was for our parents and that they not only betrayed us economically, but politically and spiritually as well. It is a lot to take in when

Man, twitter just fucking blows and pretty much is just showing me snuff, porn, and memes that make me hate humanity (but love animals).

I probably should just delete that shit and move on with my life in a meaningful capacity.

The state hates you and wants you to live in fear and terror so they can control your entire life. From cradle to grave the state demands being involved in every facet of life in order to create the greatest robbery that could ever be conceived: to rob you of your divinity and direct relationship with the divine to believe that you are nothing more than matter. Just another cog of flesh. They don’t want you to remember that you don’t need their permission or anyone else’s but your own. They don’t want you to remember the truth that you hold in your secret heart of heart that you’ve always know; but you’ve been brainwashed since birth to forget and suppress beyond all other forms of knowledge. That you are a divine empowered being who can change the world and need no one’s permission to do that.

One of the funniest things about going to music festivals is that they are clearly spiritual and religious rituals that have been lobotomized of their base meaning. Yet somehow have still reactualized themselves in modernity with this secret encrypted at their heart and still offer people the same benediction that prior religious festivals before have offered—mainly a path of transcendence awakening through the combination of drugs, community, and celebration. While debased and inverted from its previous means, in the transcendental awakening it provides, it unveils why the secrets of this initiation are held in such a way, and why such an experience must be offered in such a way.

Being a Bitcoiner in normie world is hard. Most people think I’m crazy and I generally have to self-censor most places I go. No one wants to face the reality of what is going on, and how to actually fight it. ‘It too much to think about’ is their rally cry as they escape towards mediocracy.

It’s rare to have conversations with normies that enjoy at all, as they feel so programmed and ignorant of everything going on around them. Challenging their views or asking them to try on a different perspective is rare. They are so brittle, uninspiring, and normal—it seems very sad to me that we all have so much potential and this is all they challenge themselves to be.

I empathize and understand why, but at the same time, I fail to understand the lack of curiosity and the drive to understand things and how the world works.
