Minibits now 🔒 locks your ecash to your intended recipient, so nobody can steal it on the way. Locks can expire, letting you recover a mistaken lock after some time. Lock the new release to yourself now!

For all those parents out there...
I've been using @Minibits as a way to distribute weekly pay to my kids for completing extra tasks around the home and when performing a random act of kindness to friends or strangers. As their wallet fills up to a healthy amount of sats, we transfer over to @Proton Wallet for long term storage. Once Proton adopts lightning transactions it'll get there more directly (routing through @strike). This has made it 1000% easier and faster then using the standard banking and the kids are stacking sats every week. I tell them frequently... "Your mom and I hodl now time to earn your own". If anyone has any tips or alternative strategies, I would love to hear about them.

The payment is pretty much instant. A PoS can accept ecash from any mint and receive payments via Lightning.
Still early days, but we’re experimenting. Card-to-phone works, but phone-to-phone? That’s the real killer use case.

#Minibits Review
I have been using @Minibits for a few weeks now.
I love using this underrated app because it's a very well developed app and the UI and UX are spot on and it makes it very easy to use (IMHO).
I like the features it comes with.
You are also able to claim a custom lightning address for 500sats which is awesome.
Or you are able to use a Free generatorated lightning address along with a generatorated avatar 😎
My favorite feature has to be NWC or Nostr Wallet Connect ⚡, it just works as stated and it seamless.
Only drawback I see is , it takes a few seconds for a zap to go through, not sure if that's part of eCash or the Cashu Protocol.
Other than that I'm a huge fan of this app #Minibits

Zaps from #Primal paid from #Minibits wallets over Nostr Wallet Connect should now be back in full force to roll through 2025!
They did not work for some time due to an unexpected format of NWC event tags sent from Primal app.
This has just been fixed on Minibits server which is listening for zap commands and routing them to the sender's wallet to be paid. Try them out!

Not happy that fast pace of development brings glitches (hope not as much as last upgrade anytime soon!).
Very happy that #minibits built-in failsafes help to quickly get the sats back.
#cashu wallets are not mere clients talking to the servers as your typical custodial wallet or banking app. They hold ecash physically, so being resilient is crucial.

Using it as an ongoing R&D to rethink how Lightning and Ecash UX flows should coexist in a way that makes sense for users, not builders. What works will later expand to core wallet navigation.
Minibits is an ecash wallet, so we keep big green one button dedicated to sending.
However minibits now retrieves lightning addresses from the followed profiles and adds option to pay to them on click. Asking for sats (payment request) becomes less prminent then before.

Is there any way to set the lowest zap amount on #amethyst to less then 500 sats?
After first week of Minibits #nostr account I am getting squeezed of all sats donated for custom minibits.cash wallet addresses priced at 100 sats!
Please help, zaps on amerhyst feel too good to not to be sprayed.
