Hot on the hoofs of our last major update, v6.1.0 has just landed, bringing 100% feature parity between LNBits and Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC) —empowering users with greater choice and convenience as they start receiving their first zaps and saving on the bitcoin standard!
In short, going ‘full Nostr’ means you won’t have to deal with any boar-ing limitations, just smooth P2P (Peer-to-Piggy) connectivity! 🐽

* Nostr Wallet Connect: Added support for NIP47 payment notifications for instant updates! Now, when a payment zaps in, your wallet balance(s) and updated list of payments will be displayed immediately - no more wallowing around waiting!

We just made NIP 47 NWC notifications opt-in.
You'll need to go into your NWC connection settings at https://coinos.io/settings/nostr to explicitly turn them on if you want us to continue sending them.
NWC notifications are created as nostr events when there are incoming and outgoing payments in your NWC-connected wallet. They're a fairly new feature for us so we don't expect many people will be impacted by this change but, for those who are, sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks to all who signed up to test our Android app! We've reached the required number of 12 testers to move on to the next step of applying to get into the Google Play Store.
If anyone else wants to join the Alpha test in the meantime please send us your email and we'll get you an invite.
We've already fixed a few issues around cookies not working to direct people to the right landing page, the back button not working and the camera not working. Please keep the feedback coming!

We've revoked some NWC connection secrets due to concerns of a security leak. This affects NWC connections that were created before Feb. 19 2025.
If you're having trouble zapping from Coinos via NWC please visit https://coinos.io/settings/nostr to create a new NWC connection and then copy the new connection string into your Nostr app.

We're pleased to announce that Coinos is now available as a native Android app. You can find it in Zapstore (https://zapstore.dev/) and Obtainium (https://obtainium.imranr.dev/) or download the APK file from our Github page: https://github.com/coinos/coinos-ui/releases/tag/v1.0.0
We're currently seeking internal testers to help us get into the Google Play Store as well. If you're willing to help with that, please join the testing program here: https://play.google.com/apps/internaltest/4700271962235712116 or send us your email address.
The Android app doesn't offer anything new or different from our existing Progressive Web App other than the ability to open bitcoin: lightning: and nostr: links natively
In fact the Android app is just a simple wrapper around our web app, but we hope that by releasing it we'll be more easily discoverable for people who search for Coinos in the Play Store.
We'll be looking into releasing an iOS app in the future as well.

Love to hear this! This is how we get bitcoin into the hands of people who may not understand or invest in it otherwise.
If they see new customers and increased sales, they'll talk and tell other business owners.
Once business owners have corn they can start paying their staff and suppliers with it.
Once those people have skin in the game and get a feel for how easy it is to use they get a deeper understanding than they would if you just tried to explain to them with verbal reasoning. They start stacking, holding and eventually spending themselves. It becomes a virtuous cycle and then we win.

Hi folks we've been experiencing some disruptions over the past couple days as we've been working to mitigate against an attacker who found and exploited a vulnerability in our system that allowed them to get password reset codes for accounts that didn't belong to them.
Using this exploit they were able to gain access to a number of accounts that they shouldn't have had access to and withdraw funds.
We've patched the issue and believe we've revoked the attacker's access to the compromised accounts by invalidating their JWT authentication tokens and NWC secrets.
We've instituted system-wide withdrawal limits as a precautionary measure while we work to fully restore and migrate the payment records of affected accounts.

Public Disclosure: We just found and corrected an issue that was causing some zaps to get missed in cases where our server was unable to successfully broadcast the zap receipt notification to the recipient's relays. We've fixed the issue now and have gone back to retroactively credit all the zaps that were missed.
