Anyone have any recommendations on a basic embedded database I can utilize?
I really want to minimize any requirement of having to rely on a database set up along side.

Obscura is the first VPN that:
- CAN'T log your activity by design
- Outsmarts network filters
We believe Obscura sets the standard for a new generation of VPNs, and hope you’ll check it out!
----
Contrary to popular belief, traditional VPNs (even “no-log” ones) can track you – they see both who you are and what you do, just like your ISP.
Your ISP is no better. Since 2017, they've been able to legally sell your sensitive data.

Obscura is different – we never see your decrypted internet packets in the first place.
It’s simply impossible for us to log your internet activity, even if we were compelled to, or if our servers were compromised.

Austrian Economics has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years. A once obscure academic framework has entered mainstream discourse as a new cohort of online personalities who have studied it, gain in popularity.
From Comics and Joe Rogan regulars like Dave Smith and Tim Dillon, to MMA fighters like Renato Moicano, to businesspeople like Peter Thiel and Elon Musk - these ideas have found new fertile minds to implant and spread from in the age of the internet.
Then of course there are Bitcoiners -
whose cultishness is in large part strict adherence to anti-State, hard money, and laissez faire free market capitalism of the Austrian school.
No group has done more to spread the word of Mises and Menger and Hayek than the Orange pill brigade. Indeed their progenitors the Cypherpunks themselves were Hayekians, back

While this corner of the internet celebrates his freedom, others are asking why on earth would we would defend an attempted murderer.
I wrote about the murder-for-hire charges against Ross for @Bitcoin Magazine – let this be your reminder that:
1️⃣ The agents who investigated Ross, who posed as hitmen and faked Ross' colleague's death, were sentenced to years in prison for corruption, stealing and trying to extort hundreds of thousands of dollars from Ross
2️⃣ Both agents had administrative access to the site
3️⃣ According to the Department of Homeland Security, former site administrators, and people with personal contact to Ross, DPR was more than one person
4️⃣ DPR logged into his account

So here is the NOSTR version of my Tweet this morning about $TRUMP
So, why did $TRUMP choose to start a shitcoin and why on Solana?
Shall we follow the 'MoNeY' to find out if there are any conflicts of interest and misaligned incentives?
1. Who is David Sacks and why was he chosen to be the CrYptO Czar for Trump's administration?
He is a general partner of Craft Ventures, a venture capital fund he co-founded in late 2017.
Craft ventures focus on 'Leaders in B2B software'.
And also seem to have a keen interest on anything Musk is building.
Including:
Space X
X
XAi (grok)
and even The Boring Company, weird.
Ok, so is there any connection to Musk?

- Gossip swarm (where all the relays exchange keys) needs to include advertising keys for all non-empty hypercores. This way any participant can sync the whole state of events even if the initiator is offline
- Clean up CLI switches
- Clean up error catching
- Clean up boot streaming (no hypercores, no local database)
Features to come post GitHub:
- basic IP firewall (if you choose to make use pocket publicly)
- npub white list
- relay info
- Stress testing
- Making the code more library module friendly
Lots of work to do!

I want to come back here to also time stamp some things that I am working on developing.
Nostr has been a great protocol for a lot possibilities with some early personal projects as some cool proof of concepts that others have incorporated into very polished clients (like chat).
Also thanks to discovering Keet and listening to some @Guy Swann podcasts I have gone down the Pear and Holepunch stack.
My latest project (I may have mentioned a month or so ago) is going to be a Nostr\Hypercore client that allows people to play LAN games across the Internet. I did something like this 20 years ago and I am revamping it in a complete decentralized and client controlled way.

If your code is rough keep building you can fix it.
If your stack is light keep stacking it will get there.
Slow game, let’s look back and see if we built and stacked more in a year.
(Replace build with shitpost if that’s also your thing)

If anyone here is familiar with Decentraland, it’s kind of like a Second Life for shitcoiners.
I believe it uses a client server set up coupled with IPFS for pulling textures and other data, and the Ethereum network for their shitcoin, MANA, and setting their 3D world state (land ownership etc)
I think this could be recreated without the shitcoinery using a fusion of nostr and the pear stack. Lightning could be the “coin”.
I think the mixture of those two technologies are really going to create impressive apps in the future.

(Interesting side note, today, the French government collapsed.)
If you’re a French citizen and bought 1 Bitcoin Thanksgiving 2023 at $37,035.00 USD selling today at $98,500 USD means the government takes $18,439 USD in taxes. They’ve labeled #Bitcoin as “unproductive wealth,” punishing you for escaping their broken fiat system.
This isn’t about fairness, it’s about control. They want your Bitcoin to fund their collapsing economy. And France isn’t the only country. Don’t give it to them. DO NOT SELL. Hold your keys, run a node, and stay sovereign.
Bitcoin is your way out. Let them tax their fiat into oblivion while you build freedom. #BitcoinIsFreedom #nostr #grownostr #plebchain

Due to the dramatic increase of scammers, trying to extract mnemonics from our users via DM, we are discontinuing support via DM on all platforms. While we are keeping channels like Discord and Telegram for public discussions, everything that needs private communication, like inquiring about details of a swap, will only be processed using one of the following two communication channels:
1. Via support chat at boltz.exchange
2. Via email to hi@bol.tz
This concretely means that if someone tries to make you communicate via any other communication channel, IT'S A SCAM! ⚠️

One funny thing that I heard from the first episode was using the Pear stack to play older games that are either LAN only or have had their game servers long shuttered.
Back in 2006 I wrote game match making software to allow users to interact and play older games (that used directplay) like the original GTA and Age of Empires. The last piece I was looking to solve was firewall punching before other obligations forced me to stop the project.
I say all this because Pear and Nostr provide a great opportunity to recreate this project without the server piece.
I may have found my next hobby project (trying to maintain my “top 3”)
Appreciate the inspiration @Guy Swann

It's a simple check valve (a glass marble inside the valve does all the work), so as it moves up and down in the container, it forces a little liquid into the tube each time, until there's enough to get a siphon flowing. If you've ever sucked gas or aquarium water into your mouth trying to start a siphon that way, you'll understand the value of this.

A good amount of people may not have been around during the shitcoin that was early internet businesses.
Did you know Netscape used to charge for their browser until Microsoft undercut them?
Did you know Netscape before it finally died tried to bundle an email client and IRC client with the browser?
Does anyone remember the hit the money win a prize.
I mean a lot of this pales in comparison to the ad driven monocultural internet we kind of have now (mostly the web but internet at large).
Let’s not go there but let’s also experiment. Some things are going to be shit. Paying for 700 subscriptions to maintain Nostr like streaming services may not be the most optimal but let’s experiment, give feedback, iterate.
…What was the question?

- you can move the funds with 2 keys
- if you lose one let you can work with the entity to move to another 2 of 3 so while there is risk there, there is also a safe guard
- entity cannot move funds without you.

Nothing has come into existence polished and ready to use.
Look up early twitter. Down all the time. Clunky. Weird.
Also people will move platform at their threshold of issues.
If you post cat videos on Twitter you will probably stick around on Twitter for a while.
No one cares about these things until they have to.
Same with encryption, Bitcoin, social media, etc.
I doubt Nostr would be dead if Twitter added zaps. Cats out of the bag now.

I also think anyone who followed this CAR thing saw some skepticism with it, even if they went along with it with excitement.
Just decreeing something with little infrastructure to support it won’t make it so.
Maybe bargaining chip with IMF on more favorable rollover debt etc. 🤷♂️
Either way it’s use in Africa will be bottom up like Nigeria than top down.
