One little vibe coding trick I use is explain my desired output to ChatGPT and ask it to generate a prompt that will achieve my goal. I try to be as descriptive as possible and ask it to use existing libraries to simplify the task. Then I copy that into the llm that actually does the coding. Sometimes the results are much better. I’m sure that’s probably a very inefficient way of doing things.

I sent my friend his first bitcoin to Revolut ($30)
He had to verify the wallet it came from. Including my name, wallet etc. since I used a wallet which isn’t kyced (lol) they refused the Bitcoin - he was forced to send it back. Read that again. SEND IT BACK TO THE WALLET.
He couldn’t do anything with it. Fucked up.
But now he’s holding his own keys - he immediately understood why we bitcoin 😂 Barbara Streisand effect.

This may seem controversial, but I actually like that Japan is homogeneous. It’s more pronounced where I am compared to say Tokyo and I don’t think I like the “diversity” of Tokyo. Japan has a distinct culture and you can feel it in the rural areas more so than large cities. Having more international visitors seems to dilute this unique cultural vibe. I’m part of the problem too, I’m not exactly fitting in. That’s not to say that tourism is not welcome - but I don’t think people should aim to live in this country. Japan faces somewhat of a population crisis and will require more people emigrating here, and that’ll likely make it feel even less unique, which kind of saddens me.

My kid is learning English as a second language and he was using some corporate program that was supposed to be fine tuned over many years. I noticed that their method of teaching is not great because it forces kids to memorize images instead of read actual text, so I stopped immediately and switched him over to reading one syllable words and gradually building them into sentences.
Now I use ChatGPT to generate custom lesson plans for him. It takes about 10 seconds to generate. I can honestly say this has worked much better than this expensive corpo program.
The tools we have at our disposal now are insane. All it takes is a tiny bit of imagination and a drive to try things.

I see some people say, well, don’t rely on the answers you get from prompts. Ok. Fair enough. But what happens when even the non-prompted information becomes a product of prompting? At that point it’s impossible to tell what is original thought and what is a product of AI usage and influence. It feels inevitable that a bulk of knowledge will eventually be influenced by AI.
I’m not concerned about AGI influencing the whole of humanity because I don’t think AGI will be possible for hundreds of years yet,

I’m all for paying government employees more, not less. I want my government to be small, lean and mean - as in ruthlessly efficient and more than competent. AI is exciting to me not because of what it can do for software developers but because of what it can do for entrepreneurs who are not developers.
Many businesses can be created with minimal software and LLMs are a decent way to get to a minimal passable product that solves a very specific problem. It won’t build you a giant platform but it’s good enough to validate an idea and to test demand. Soon enough it could be good enough to build a business.
I see many developers arguing about the quality of code etc .. and they are right - it can and often sucks. But, people with problems don’t care about code quality - they just want their problems solved. “Yeah but it is production-quality code?!” Ok dude - no one cares. Yes, it matters if you want maintainable software that doesn’t crash
