When you build a system that allows central control and censorship then the state will use those affordances if they feel the need. Bluesky’s blocked some Turkish accounts by order of the Turkish government.
The user DID keys are still active but their associated domain name / user names are not and the identities at blocked by bluesky’s moderation system that Turkish users can’t opt out of.

To escape this censorship you need to both use a Bluesky client that doesn’t opt in to the company’s obligatory moderation and also some relay and appviews which refuse to comply with Turkish censorship orders.

It's soon November and that means we're approaching the third iteration of #nostrnovember
The first iteration (in 2022) was all about only using nostr for the entire month, no other social platform was allowed. Our focus was to help builders build by using clients extensively and reporting any issues or features missing from the client.
The second iteration (in 2023) was all about spreading the word about nostr and advertise it to the world, to get more users and builders over here to help us build awesome stuff on nostr.
This year will be the third iteration of #nostrnovember what should we make of it fellow nostriches?
For historical reference: @jb55 kickstarted the #nostrnovember event in 2022 with the following note

We do have nostrchat.io although it's missing some core features like keeping a channel in the sidebar and leaving a channel. I've created a Github issue for both those things though.
