Burmese military is about to receive a total of $50 million in disaster donations from 🇸🇬 🇰🇭 🇺🇸 🇲🇾 🇪🇺 🇯🇵 🇦🇺 🇬🇧 🇨🇳. I doubt a huge fraction is going to get to the ground. I’ve hit up 4 BTC online trainings, but none nailed the hands-on vibe like this. They shared their screens, broke down the basics—covering wallets like Muun, multiple lightning and on-chain transactions, ATMs, buying and selling in practically any country—plus set up #Bitcoin donation campaigns and crowdfunding examples, and even explained how Nostr works. Seriously, you name it, they covered it! It felt so relatable hearing about their real-world challenges, including the tough ones they’ve faced head-on. You may think Bitcoin is useless and volatile while enjoying your democracy and 24/7 electricity - but if there were Bitcoin technology back in the days of 1985 and 1987, people in Burma would escape out of the military regime's overnight demonization policy. He'll have to wait six more months before he can apply again. Damn.

Why share? Does it connect to my family's troubles with American immigration? Sure. But it's something I care about independently too. My developed world friends are often wildly unaware of how hard it is to travel without a fancy passport. Which is frustrating for everyone else!

If there were a decentralized currency in cyberspace that nobody controls, millions of people could resist their orders and reclaim power back into their hands.
