The label might say it’s clean.
That doesn’t mean it is.
Glyphosate still shows up in bottles labeled organic.🍷👇

Glyphosate is the main ingredient in Roundup.
It’s used in vineyards to kill weeds around the base of vines. Easy to spray. Cheap to apply. Hard to keep out once it's there.
Glyphosate exposure is linked to:
- Increased cancer risk, especially non-Hodgkin lymphoma
- Endocrine disruption
- Gut microbiome damage
Glyphosate use is off the charts in U.S. agriculture, but when it comes to wine, California is the hotspot.

It’s heavily used in conventional vineyards up and down the state. That makes California wines especially vulnerable to glyphosate residues, even when the winery itself follows organic practices.
Organic farming bans glyphosate use.

But that’s useless advice if you don’t know what questions to ask.
Here’s where I would start.

Your goal is to get them talking. To do that, you need to come off curious and compassionate, not accusatory. You’re not trying to catch them in a lie. You’re trying to learn how they think.
Start with sulfites.
You could say something like,
“I know all wine has sulfites, but I keep hearing they’re overused in a lot of wines out there.”
That’ll open the door. If they immediately agree, you’re probably talking to someone who’s thinking carefully about what goes in their wine. If they bristle or start defending heavy use, there’s a good chance it’s a more conventional approach. And if they’re using a lot of sulfites,

The company was doing ok for a startup with a few thousand paying enterprise customers at $19 per month but to build up the validation drama for the company I mentioned that we already had offers to sell the company (we did but it was an acqui-hire type of offer).
When a VC asked me why I didn't already sell the company then, I told him I'd be bored and just start doing drugs or something.
The vc's mildly smirked, the room laughed out loud, and one person in the third row of the room stared me down deadpanned with beady eyes.

What They’re Made From
Whiskey starts with fermented grains like corn, rye, wheat, or barley.
Different styles use different blends. Bourbon is mostly corn. Scotch is malted barley. Rye and Irish whiskey follow their own rules.
Once distilled, those differences mostly disappear.
Distillation strips away nearly everything except ethanol and water.
Red Wine starts with grapes and grapes naturally contain compounds that survive fermentation and end up in your glass. These include polyphenols, which have been studied for their ability to reduce inflammation, support blood vessels, and protect cells from oxidative stress.
Barrel Aging
Both wine and whiskey usually spend time in oak.

Medium of exchange in the Bitcoin circular economy isn’t about scale. It’s not a daily active user chart. It’s not a dashboard metric.
It’s trading wine for soap. Shirts for salmon. Bitcoin for beef. It’s real relationships with founders who care about their product, their freedom, and the people they serve. It’s conversations about Bitcoin, health, and building lives outside the system.
This is the real world. One built on value, trust, and skin in the game.

Meanwhile, the macro analysts go home and log into someone else’s world.
The Bitcoin economy is small. It’s real. And it’s growing. Just like Bitcoin itself, it’s there for anyone ready to exit the matrix and stop needing their money and goods.

Beer...Wine. They both got me drunk.
Then I started paying attention.
To how beer left me foggy.
And how wine didn’t.
Here’s what I found 🍺🍷🧵

Wine and Beer Start From Different Foundations
Wine is made from fermented grapes.
Beer is made from fermented grains.
That difference really matters.
Grapes naturally contain compounds that survive fermentation and end up in your glass. These include polyphenols, which have been studied for their ability to reduce inflammation, support blood vessels, and protect cells from oxidative stress.
Beer starts with starch. After fermentation, most commercial beer is filtered, pasteurized, and standardized. That strips out nearly all of the byproducts that might offer anything beyond alcohol and empty calories.
Both wine and beer can include additives

Feeling reflective today.
It’s wild that this is my life.
I make wine on the property I grew up on and sell it by shitposting alongside My People on the internet.
None of this was planned.

At 25, I was floundering. I knew I needed to start something and bet on myself, but had no idea what.
My dad made wine as a hobby. One day he suggested I start a winery. I’d never made wine before, but I said fuck it and started Peony Lane.
That first year, I had no product to sell and hated the job I had. My dad wanted to build a house, so now I live in one that he and I built together.
When I moved home to do that, I lived with a friend who

And it's more common than you’d think.
Once you know how to spot it, you’ll taste it everywhere.
And you’ll never look at cheap red wine the same way again. 🧵🍷

Mega Purple is a thick, sweet, inky extract made from a grape called Rubired.
Just a small dose adds deep color, smooth texture, and a candied finish to otherwise forgettable wine.
It’s grape-derived—but that doesn’t mean it’s good.

It started as a way to rescue weak vintages. But now it’s everywhere.
If you’re drinking wine from a box, or paying under $15 a bottle, especially for jammy reds—there’s a good chance Mega Purple is in the mix.
Think of it as a type of pancake style makeup for wine.

Speculators. Gamblers. Noise.
They’re not.
They’re the best customers you’ve never targeted—
and right now is the perfect time to reach them.
1. The Misread
Most business owners assume Bitcoin is just hype and volatility.
They don’t realize there’s a real customer base behind it—
one that’s deeply aligned on values like quality, durability, and truth.
Bitcoiners aren’t chasing trends.
They’re trying to build a better world—
and they want to spend their money with businesses who align.
2. What Makes Them Different
Bitcoiners don’t just buy things they like.
They champion them.
They tell their friends.
They bring you up in every group.
They’ll ride with you through the awkward early phases.

Bitcoin is volatile internet money.
Neither seemed like a foundation for a business—
until I found my best customers: Bitcoiners.
🧵 How I took my winery from zero to all-in:
2021
I’d just started selling my wine at farmers markets.
One day, a guy asked, “Do you accept crypto?”
I said, “I’ll take your bitcoin,” and had no idea how I’d actually do that.
He walked away.
But it stuck in my mind.
The first person who ever asked.
I was a Bitcoiner, but didn’t think that had anything to do with wine.
Bitcoiners were 0% of my sales.
2022
I joined Twitter. Went to my first Bitcoin conference.
And the people in it? They were my people.
Honest.

You don’t have to trust Trump or Elon to see they’re fighting back against woke craziness. It’s obvious in both foreign and domestic policy, with the contrast against Europe making it even clearer.
I expect JD Vance to win the presidency after Trump and continue in this direction. But in the grand scheme, I don’t think that makes a difference in what’s coming next.
In four years, Bitcoin will be the size of gold. The Nation-States desperately trying to keep the fiat Ponzi alive will be the ones in clear decline.
Worried about free speech? Give NOSTR another four years to grow from infancy. The foundations are already being built.

There are still a ton of Bitcoiners on Twitter, and a lot of good information there, but the momentum and directionality are undeniable.
From what I understand, the Bitcoin community has always evolved its home base. It started on cypherpunk mailing lists, moved to Bitcoin Talk forums, then Reddit, then Twitter. Now it’s moving to NOSTR.
It would be crazy to think the right place for discussion and collaboration wouldn’t change over time. Blame Elon if you want for pushing Bitcoiners away from Twitter, but I think NOSTR was going to win regardless. A free, open, and customizable platform is just a better fit for this community.
What makes NOSTR special is the people—the super early adopters who’ve built something amazing here. Over the last two

It means, "You were right, but it’s too late now. I missed it." That attitude is the hardest to hear because it’s not true.
A lot of people think Bitcoin is too good to be true. And when you describe it without thinking, yeah—it does sound that way. A future of sound money, fairness, and freedom? It’s hard to imagine because we’ve been trained to expect disappointment, not hope.
People have been conditioned to be nihilistic about the future. So when Bitcoin offers a way out, it’s easier to dismiss it as "too late" or "not real" than to accept it’s already here.
They think it’s over. They don’t see that it’s barely begun.
You weren’t right then. You’re right now. And you’ll keep being right. It’s not about the past—it’s about waking up to the future.
