i work in lists of 3s, so here’s a few for nostr.

I wrote this back in February 2024 in my flat on a rainy day in northern west England, wistfully looking back at the good times travling and gigging on the road. EARLY V4V release! ⚡🎶🎧
‘Strangers To Lovers’ was written with Vinnie Paolizzi when I was in Nashville last August. We spent most of the writing session catching up on what had happened since we last saw each other in 2018. When we finally got round to writing, we came up with this tune in a few minutes, one of of the easiest co-writes I’ve had thus far. I wanted to do an acoustic version of the tune to showcase the lyric and story, so took it to the talented James Wyatt at Sloe Flower Studio and explained, I didn’t want anything fancy, I just wanted something real. We talked for a while about influences and soon discovered we were both big fans of Dave Cobb, Jason Isbell and that school of classic production / songwriting. In this recent episode of @CITADEL DISPATCH with @ODELL - @jack talked about one of the first simple changes to Twitter's feed that included a "whilst you were away" feature - which highlighted 8 top posts from people you followed in a recent timeframe, before you get to the chronological feed.
In my view adding this simple change to the way client feeds work would massively increase the value of nostr - as currently there's just too much going on and it's easy to miss valuable posts. The trending section of Primal is great - but I don't believe it serves the same purpose.
Do any clients offer this right now?

Hey new Nostr users that have jumped on Nostr thanks to @Ian Carroll, I'd like to take a moment and blow your mind and show you the power of Nostr. You're probably using Damus or Primal right now. I want you to go and download an app called @Wavlake or @Fountain . You can get either of these on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. They're essentially Spotify but for Nostr. Once you have either one downloaded, you're going to want to "sign in" to this app with your private key or secret key from your Damus or your Primal. This is the long ugly looking string of characters that starts with NSEC. This is like your super secret password that you can never change, so you do want to keep it save and never share it. On Monday we added a fix for an edge case around new episode syncing where if you had already added an episode manually from the show page without syncing your library, and then added a custom filter tag, the tag would be wiped on the next library sync.
This fix inadvertently broke the syncing of new episodes in some cases.
This issue is now resolved and library syncing should be working normally. Apologies to anyone who experienced the issue.

If you onboard a newbie to nostr, make sure to help them get the nsec into a password manager or similar.
Phones will be lost. Apps deleted. They don't know what they do, and with this (imperfect) backup in place they won't have to start from scratch.

Both Fountain and Wavlake want V4V Music Playlists to be interoperable between the apps using Nostr.

Ok this is pretty cool!
@jb55 shared an apple podcasts link - I missed it in my main nostr feed - but saw it in Fountain and because of open podcasting even though it was an apple podcast link Fountain can find the episode, show me the playable content card, and let me queue it up and download it!

Atomic clocks are so precise they can measure the gravitational time dilation difference within atoms one millimeter away from each other.
Just listened to this podcast with Ivette Fuentes where she is devising experiments to probe quantum gravity effects using atomic clocks and entanglement. Interesting stuff.

Fountain 1.1 with #nostr is now live on iOS and Android!
Why Nostr?
We regularly hear from both listeners and podcasters that the social features in Fountain are a great way to discover content that’s worth listening to.
When you support a podcast, or comment on an episode, your message is surfaced to your followers in the Fountain home feed and anyone that sees these can add the content to their library.
But this came with a few problems. When you first start using Fountain you wouldn’t have any followers so your posts wouldn’t get seen. If you wanted to share something you were listening to, you had to choose between leaving a comment on Fountain, or sharing on another social platform.
Today we are excited to announce a massive update to Fountain that solves these problems with

I never saw @Lyn Alden's post about this episode in my main nostr client feed because I didn't happen to open Primal or Damus in the timeframe that she shared it.
What's cool about the new Fountain Nostr integration is we only surface posts related to audio - so I saw it and was able to queue up the episode - and also send Lyn a zap in the process! ⚡️

Guy Swann has provided an audio version of my long-form article about Nostr.
It reminded me that he was another example of someone I paid for non-tipping things using Nostr as the payment discovery mechanism. Guy performed the audio editing for the individual files of my "Broken Money" youtube video. And I paid him for it not by having to ask for his invoice or anything, but rather just by looking him up on Nostr and paying him.
Venmo-like payment discovery in an open-source and globally-interoperable way is a big deal in the long run.
