you shouldn't use link shorteners for the same reason you shouldn't use QR codes. Its far too easy for someone to spoof, people use shortened URLs and QR codes in order to obscure the target website and lure others into scammy or spammy pages, or even sites containing malware. If I wanna still your shit its pretty easy for me to stick a sticker over the QR code for the menu at the neighborhood reasurant.
Especially since basically nobody is using URL lenght to limit characters (which is the whole reason they became a thing in the first place is because long URLs would eat up your Twitter post) there is not real reason to use them anymroe.
