With AIs creating their models of the world primarily by reading text online, there's never been a more critical time to write than it is today.
This is an idea I've heard in a recent interview with Gwern and it's been reverberating in me ever since. Think about anything you care about, anything that's good or bad, anything of value to you. If it doesn't exist online, it basically doesn't exist at all for the AIs. That also means that your writings might be part of the training data of future AIs. By publishing your thoughts, you can become a tiny part of latent space tilting the self-reflection of the world in a direction you want to.

My husband is flying back to the U.S. today after having been stuck in Egypt managing a big construction project for a while.
He hates long flights, so to amp himself up he randomly decided to stop in Dublin for two days. Just because he hadn’t been there before.
So he just went there by himself for no particular reason, stayed in a literal castle hotel, ate steak, drank beer, spent hours walking around seeing all sorts of delightful churches and parks and homes, and then left.

My boy (11) just finished creating this collection of "Anthropomorphic Blobs" (as he calls them) using #ink and #watercolor I told him I'd post it and show him the power of #v4v Any zaps on this will go into his "low time preference" wallet. If you can show some support, thank you!

⚡️🚨 WATCH - Bill Gates is a strong advocate for Digital ID systems, suggesting they could play a major role in combating misinformation.
He admits that the United States poses a unique challenge because of First Amendment protections.
Gates believes that over time, people will prefer environments where individuals are fully identified.
Do you agree? #asknostr

"Wine Tannins give me Massive Headaches"🍷
As a low-intervention winemaker, that one caught me off guard.
I’ve heard people blame sugar, sulfites, even histamines. But tannins? Let’s talk about what they are—and what they’re not. 🧵

Tannins are natural compounds found in grape skins, seeds, stems, and oak barrels.
They aren’t about flavor—they’re about texture.
They’re much more present in red and orange wines than in whites or rosés, since those wines stay in contact with skins, seeds, stems, and oak barrels much longer.
I often hear people say a wine is dry, referring to that mouth-drying sensation you get from certain wines.
However, when a wine is dry, that means it isn’t sweet.
People who describe highly tannic wines this way aren't totally wrong because tannins bind to your saliva and
