I've noticed this on corporate social media:
So you'll be scrolling along minding nobody's business and you'll come across some website that is basically selling you one product.
So I'm a photographer and I'm rebuilding my business so the crap that the algorithm feeds me tends to be photography oriented.
Enter the Chuzhao digital TLR camera
It's a neat little camera! Maybe I could justify the purchase if the cost weren't so high.
But wait...
Can I find it elsewhere?
Enter Amazon:
So take $100 CAD or so off the price. Wow.
Hmmmmmm........
I wonder.....
Turns out you can eliminate most of the cost of the item just by purchasing it from AliExpress.
This isn't the only product like this I've seen.
The lesson here:
A fool and his money are soon parted.
And no, I'm not buying this silly little camera just in case you were wondering.

i block ads because i am 100% not interested in targeted ads or what they think i want to buy.
if I want something i look for it and make up my own mind.
invasive data driven ads are a scourge.
as a gay guy they recommend gay dating sites to me and other stereotyped 'gay' things... that well this f&g isn't interested in. 🤙😇🤣

Absolutely agreed. I spend in inordinate amount of time keeping ads away from myself and my daughter. I just noticed this a few times on Facebook and I find it amusing.
