So many people choose to ignore this aspect. To me, it is the FUNDAMENTAL reason why Bitcoin was created.

Many are unprepared to let it go if it fails in that respect.

The use case for peer to peer pseudonymous or anonymous transactions might always be niche because the majority of people do not care about their privacy, that’s the sad truth at least in the west. Bitcoin will still enable systems and protocols to fill that niche unlike any fiat currency besides physical cash.

It's sad but true, most don't care. I don't think that should be a reason not to pursue the goal of privacy. Ultimately, the money changers would do anything they can to prevent it, as it is the very opposite of what they would like to have as a system.

At the moment, Bitcoin is lining up somewhere in-between, and has been shifting further away from its initial intent. In a digital age with cbdcs looming, being able to protect out wealth as well as our privacy and autonomy are all equally important to me. I don't care to be rich if my freedom is severely impacted.
