yeah, i don't think you can really eliminate them entirely
the main thing about them is they spawn in the canopy and drop down, so wearing hats and such can help, and during their seasons of spawning, checking all the pets and childrens and adults for them is mandatory
they are proof that the devil doesn't only pervert humanity, as per his other name "lord of the flies" those motherfuckers also... not as bad as ticks maybe, but in the same category

Gene drive could do it. Basically you make all the spawn male and the species rapidly goes extinct. Not a fan of meddling in nature but ticks may be the one thing that would make me reconsider

yeah, i would lke to see a mechanism work... feminization and masculinization are typically quite species specific
