I bought a $1600 prosumer espresso machine (Rocket Apartmento) and have never once regretted it. Copper pipes, hand assembled, durable and reliable. Had it two years and well past payback. The espresso it makes with me at the helm is better than 99% of coffee shops. Worth the sats.

Garrett, Laser is right about a lot, my cousin has his machine and it’s great. Just check out the La Pavoni community, this machine has a high learning curve, but once mastered is a complete manual joy to use and becomes an heirloom for many. The only issue is the smaller basket size.
PS: fwiw: after the beans, grinder’s make more of a quality difference, but to me, it’s the ritual where the manual lever press excels. There’s nothing quite like pulling a Fellini and feeling that handle firm up before that crema oozes out of the after-market naked portafilter.
