I think zero is pretty close to accurate in terms of career.

When I meet someone for the first time and they ask “So…what do you do?” as their opener: the conversation is already over in my head and I’m looking for the exits. Looking to get back to spending my time with the people I care about most.

I know they’re just trying to be friendly and break the ice but it’s such a bad question because the answer puts the respondent in a box. I enjoy my work but I don’t define my life by it. I don’t identify as my job title: I’m not a podcaster 🤣

I came to the same conclusion. So, instead, I tend to ask: “How do you spend your free time?”

It sparks much more interesting conversations, and makes it easier to relate and connect to people!

Conversations are pointless.

1. You talk to people who are unrelatable, or don't know anything you're talking about.

2. You talk to someone who knows what you're talking about but it becomes redundant because it eventually becomes a preaching to the choir.

3. The conversation eventually ends.
