Quoting this in case it speaks with someone.

Replying to @Jordan Eskovitz

Debatable. I'm not 1000% convinced of that. But either way, wether machines can produce art or not, they cannot replace an Artist because an Artist isn't just someone who produces Art. He is an Artistic performance in himself.

I'm starting to think it is possible for someone to produce Art without being an Artist.

But again I'm not sure at all. It's just a train of thought I've been on.

An AI can never make art, but an artist can use AI to make art.

An artist isn't someone that paints a beautiful picture, it's someone who paints a thousand pictures as a result of their practice, some of which are beautiful, all of which contain within them all past works and the seeds of future ones.

If an artist's practice is prompt engineering or model seeding or tweaking, and it is intentionally practiced regularly, then some of what they produce as a result of that will be beautiful works of art.

Someone else giving the same AI the same prompt and producing the same work is analogous to an art forger replicating a great work of art. Even if the finished piece is a carbon copy, it is no work of art.
